"In Praise of Craziness of a Certain Kind"

On cold evenings
my grandmother,
with ownership of half her mind -
the other half having flown back to Bohemia -

spread newspapers over the porch floor
so, she said, the garden ants could crawl beneath,
as under a blanket, and keep warm,

and what shall I wish for, for myself,
but, being so struck by the lightning of years,
to be like her with what is left, that loving.

Here is a way to think about living your life.  Give it a try and see the Joy it brings to you and all around you.

DARE

By Emma Bezy

June 9, 1948 – June 21, 2007

DARE to fully accept yourself just as you are right now, with compassion.

DARE to honor your thoughts and feeling, even when others don’t.

DARE to go deeply in to your emotions, and risk ridicule for speaking from your heart.

DARE to heed the advice of your body wisdom as much as you heed the advice of your intellect.

DARE to speak from your intuitive knowingness, even when you have no objective or scientific proof to support it.

DARE to give up the safety of vagueness for the risk of greater clarity.

DARE to do things that bring you joy and pleasure, even if your competency is less than mastery.

DARE to care about the little things, especially when you know they are really the big things.

DARE to protect the natural world and all living creatures as fiercely as you would your own offspring.

DARE to allow grace to move though your life, unexplained.
